The unique technology to be the basis for a new strategic road construction.
The development of the road network in Russia has been one of the strategic priorities for several decades. The uncomparable quality of Russian roads and foreign routes does not need comment. The pace of construction of new roads is exacerbating the backlog. What do we do in this situation? When, finally, a huge country is covered by a network of quality, unnecessarily repaired roads?
Today, we offer readers the opinion of an eminent professional who has devoted many years to innovation in road construction and offers the opinion of the RAEN Academy, the Doctor of Chemical Sciences, the Director General of OAO, the Moscow IMET, Marcel Janović BICBAU.
- Marcel Janovic, what do you say about the recently adopted federal target programme " Development of the Russian transport system in 2010-2025 " ?
♪ I understand the Government ' s concern and note that planned activities and investment in the road network are generally commendable. But I must say that even the implementation of this programme will not advance the world hierarchy of public transport systems. Given the pace of development of the road network in other countries, we are obviously going to withdraw even further.
♪ What are the suggestions for improving the situation that you are personally willing to make, a scientist, a practical expert with an internship?
♪ I propose a new concept for the development of Russia ' s transport complex based on a technological change of roads and the replacement of short-lived road clothing from asphaltobeton on cementoboneton whose actual longevity is between 30 and 35 years.
♪ Please elaborate on this!
♪ Russia ranks first in the world - 10 million square kilometres. This colossal territory needs normal main roads. Today, we have roads with a total length of just over a million km (this takes into account all roads and rural ones). Among high-end roads, only 1,500 km. I will bring this shocking fact: today, some 40,000 human settlements in Russia have no communication other than the winter.
With regard to the modern European norms on which we are equal (this is a road of up to 40 tons), we have 0.5 per cent of roads.
